VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:

All pets must be fully vaccinated before visiting Pampered Paws.  We require the following vaccinations at least a week prior to your pet‘s visit.  In addition, all vaccinations must be verifiable by either a licensed veterinarian, or if administered elsewhere, (i.e. at home) visual proof must be provided in the form of the stickers provided on the vaccination vials:

DOGS

  • Rabies vaccination is required by state law for all dogs four months of age and older.  This can only be administered by a licensed veterinarian

  • DHLPP is the combination vaccine commonly known as "distemper" that protects your dog against five or six viral diseases, including canine distemper and parvovirus. This vaccine is required, since these diseases can be life-threatening to unvaccinated dogs.

  • Bordetella or kennel cough vaccination is particularly vital for all dogs in a boarding or day care situation, since the infection is airborne and quite common where dogs are housed together or play together.  We require the bordetella vaccine every six months.  This vaccination is not given until either 12 weeks of age or the third set of puppy vaccines, therefore, we cannot allow any dogs under the age of 12 weeks to take part in most of our services.

EXTERNAL PARASITES:

In the event that parasites (fleas and/or ticks) exist on your pet, we will dip them with an herbal formula at the owner’s expense.  This is for the protection of all of our other guests.

EXCESSIVE MATTING:

It is our professional experience that a matted dog or cat can have pre-existing conditions that may be uncovered when the matted coat is removed.  Removal of mats is not only for cosmetics.  You can either choose to have Pampered Paws brush out or shave down your pet.  Understand that either of these methods is stressful to your pet and may even cause some pain.  We do not choose to shave down your pet, but unfortunately it may become necessary.

We are careful to avoid this, but you must be aware of your pet’s skin and coat condition.  We will do our best to advise you prior to your visit of what is best for your pet, but often, during the spa treatment, we find that there are mats present that may not have initially been visible.  In this case, if we cannot reach you, we will do what we feel is best for the pet.  Please understand that removal of mats, either brushing or shaving, will be an additional cost.

HOURS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

Monday - Friday 7:30AM-6:00PM & Saturday 7:30-5:00PM.  We are closed daily for lunch between 1:00 - 2:00PM.

NOTE: We regret that we cannot receive drop-off and pick-up of your pet during non-business hours.  If you arrive during non-business hours and a receptionist is still present, you will be charged a late pick-up/drop-off fee.  This also applies to our lunch hour.
